VR Team Building Ideas

Nothing connects you more with others than shared experiences. By immersing your team in a memorable adventure with the pressure of a ticking clock, it is possible to stretch them in new challenging ways, far beyond traditional team building. Offering challenges that improve team understanding and develop leadership skills across all team members, not just the usual suspects.

When Boston Consulting Group were looking to provide a high intensity but also fun team building exercise that satisfied the above criteria, the bomb Defusal game fitted the bill. They rented ten VR systems for a day, including our expert VR attendants.

Bomb Defusal Game

The individual in the VR headset is the only person who can see the bomb and takes the role of bomb diffuser. The markings on bomb will help you determine what wires to reduce or buttons to press. Teammates (up to four) have the printed bomb defusal manual. The bomb defuser must describe the bomb and their teammates must use the manual to decipher how to defuse it and give instructions to the defuser wearing the headset. There’s a 5 minute countdown before the bomb explodes.

VR Pictionary

An interesting twist on the classic game Pictionary as demonstrated by Scarlett Johansson and Jimmy Fallon…

Rec Room

If you want your team to engage in more active, action style adventures then Rec Room is a great choice. Teams of 4 people (each one in their own headset) can play a wide variety of team based games such as paddle ball, frisbee golf, charades, paintball, and many others.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew

Up to 4 people can play Star Trek: Bridge Crew. The game puts you and your friends in the heart of the U.S.S. Aegis. Your mission: explore a largely uncharted sector of space known as The Trench, in hopes of locating a suitable new home world for the decimated Vulcan populace. The Klingon Empire is also active in the region, and their purpose is a threat to the Federation’s plans.

Make strategic decisions and coordinate actions with your crew to complete the mission. In co-op, you can form a crew of four players to serve in the roles of Captain, Helm, Tactical and Engineer. In addition to a dynamic storyline, the game features an “Ongoing Missions” mode, procedurally generating missions for countless hours of Solo and Co-op adventure.
